MOVIE REVIEW - Alice in Wonderland

SPOILER ALERT! : Disclaimer - IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEE OR HAVE NOT YET SEEN ALICE IN WONDERLAND AND DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE PLOT, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS BLOG POST AS SPOILERS WILL BE REVEALED!

I just got back from the cinema, after watching Alice in Wonderland in 3D. It starts off on a gloomy night with Alice 13 years before she returns to 'Underland'. The story then jumps to when Alice is 18, on the way to what becomes her engagement party. The ginger guy (As I call him, 'cause I can't remember his name) and asks her to marry him. Then we all know she runs off, falls down a hole and goes into a dream as she thinks. My favourite part of the film would have to be when she is falling down the hole. It seems like the craziest part of the whole film. The one thing i'm glad about in tis film is Tim Burton, the director, didn't make the setting too crazy. I think it seemed jus right to suit the characters. I also thought the casting was good, with a mix of American, British and Australian actors (Mia Wasikowska - Alice). Even though Johnny Depp was an obvious choice for The mad hatter, the character suits him and I think he plays it well. Other characters I thought were casted very well were Matt Lucas as Tweedledee an Tweedledum and Stephen Fry as the Cheshire cat. Most people thought that Alice n Wonderland would just be like Tim Burtons other films, but I think with a different story and a few different actors in the mix, it can change the outlook of the film. Overall, I thought Alice in Wonderland was an excellent family film, althought I don't think it would have made any difference if you go and see it in 3D or not, because the story is still there! What do you think!?

Wikipedia Plot description : (In case you can't understand mine, I mean, I can't really and I wrote it!)

Alice in Wonderland is a 2010 fantasy adventure film directed by Tim Burton, written by Linda Woolverton, and stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Crispin Glover, Michael Sheen and Stephen Fry. It is an extension of the Lewis Carroll novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. The film uses a technique of combining live action and animation.

In the film, Alice is now 19 years old and accidentally returns to Underland, a place she previously visited 13 years ago. She is told that she is the only one that can slay the Jabberwocky, a dragon controlled by the Red Queen. Burton said the original Wonderland story was always about a girl wandering around from one character to another and he never felt a connection emotionally, so he wanted to make it feel more like a story than a series of events. He does not see this as a sequel to previous films or a re-imagining. It premiered in London at the Odeon Leicester Square on February 25, 2010 and was released in Australia on March 4, 2010 and the United States and the United Kingdom on March 5, 2010 through Walt Disney Pictures in 3-D and IMAX 3-D, as well as in regular theaters.
